To provide fine-grained control over access to different features, Doubleknot supports more than 30 different kinds of user permissions. Doubleknot also supports role-based permissions so you can create "roles" that contain the right set of permissions for a job function. When you assign administrators to a role, they automatically receive all the permissions associated with the role.
Below is a list of all Doubleknot permissions. The permissions that are available for your organization depend on what Doubleknot features you’re using. Permissions followed by an asterisk (*) have additional levels of access control and are discussed below the list.

For those permissions, you can assign the following access levels:

| Reports | View reports for this feature. |
| Read | Read information entered for this feature in addition to viewing reports. For example, the Read privilege for Event Management allows administrators to view registrations but not to change them. |
| Update | Update information for this feature in addition to the above privileges. |
| Create | Create new entries for this feature in addition to the above privileges. |
| Delete | Delete entries for this feature in addition to the above privileges (not available for the Sales Station permission). |
| Administrator | Perform every activity for this feature including creating, updating and deleting information and viewing reports |
The Sales Station permission supports three levels of access: Update, Create and Administrator. Complete information about Sales Station permissions is located the next section. Basic guidelines for Sales Station administrator privileges are the following:
- To allow staff to configure Sales Station options including setting station types and register keys, assign the Administrator permission.
- To allow staff to use Sales Station at a POS register or on a mobile device but not allow them to configure Sales Station, assign the Create permission.
