An attribute is setting that the organization can create to allow for their products to be more differentiated. For example, if the organization wants to sell clothing to their customers, an attribute can be anything related to the item, such as color, size, material, sleeve length, collar style. Each attribute can have multiple options available for selection. For color, the organization can create as many color options as possible that can then be used to differentiate between products. A shirt can have the attribute assigned of color and have the option of "black" selected for it.
When the customer goes to the organization's online store, they can filter the product catalog by attributes. Using the example above, the customer can select the option of "black" and all products that have an attribute with the option will appear.
